# Installation

**Download the Resource** Download the resource from the Cfx.re Portal after purchasing.

**Extract and Place into Resources** Extract the downloaded file and place both folders into your server's resources directory.

```
resources/
  └── QuannsStudios-PoliceSystem/
  └── Qs_TextUI/
```

**Update server.cfg** Add the following to your server.cfg. Start resources in this order:

```
ensure ox_lib
ensure ox_target
ensure ox_inventory
ensure oxmysql
ensure esx_society
ensure Qs_TextUI
ensure QuannsStudios-PoliceSystem
```

**Database** The resource auto-creates its tables on first boot. No manual SQL imports needed.

**Add Required Items** Add the following to your ox\_inventory items file:

lua

```lua
['evidence_bag']    = { label = 'Evidence Bag',    weight = 100,  stack = false, close = true },
['shell_casing']    = { label = 'Shell Casing',     weight = 50,   stack = true,  close = true },
['microscope']      = { label = 'Microscope',       weight = 500,  stack = false, close = true },
['evidence_report'] = { label = 'Evidence Report',  weight = 50,   stack = false, close = true },
['battery']         = { label = 'Battery',          weight = 100,  stack = true,  close = true },
['cleaning_kit']    = { label = 'Cleaning Kit',     weight = 150,  stack = false, close = true },
```

**Add Police Job** Add the police job to your ESX database if not already present:

sql

```sql
INSERT INTO `jobs` (`name`, `label`) VALUES ('police', 'Police');
INSERT INTO `job_grades` (`job_name`, `grade`, `name`, `label`, `salary`) VALUES
('police', 0, 'cadet',     'Cadet',             200),
('police', 1, 'officer',   'Officer',            400),
('police', 2, 'corporal',  'Corporal',           600),
('police', 3, 'sergeant',  'Sergeant',           800),
('police', 4, 'lieutenant','Lieutenant',        1000),
('police', 5, 'swat',      'SWAT',              1200);
```

**Set Admin Permissions** Add the following to your server.cfg or ACL:

```
add_ace group.admin quans.police.admin allow
```

**Server Requirements** Your server must be running artifacts version 17000 or higher.

**Restart Server** Restart your server. QuannsStudios-PoliceSystem will automatically create all required database tables on first boot.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://quannsstudios.gitbook.io/quannsstudio-docs/policesystem/installation.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
